Why Is This Event Important?

A key reason I’m creating this annual event is because my life was forever changed at an event called Anointed For Business in 2003. I was 20 years old and scheduled to play guitar for the event at Brownsville AG in Pensacola, FL. I knew I was a creative type and a songwriter, but at 20 years old, I didn’t see that connection to business. I thought I would only do “ministry.”

As the CEOs and Founders began to share about lessons learned in creating products and services, my heart began to leap. Then so many of them ended their talk with how they’re using their business revenue to care for the orphan, widow and the poor, I began to tear-up and knew God was doing something special in me. That one weekend changed my life. I began to think “What do I really want to do with my life?” “What do I want to accomplish?” “What has God designed me to do?” “How can I use my talents to care for the orphans and those in need?” I made a promise to God that day. I told Him I would create businesses, get out of debt as soon as possible, then build orphanages.” I’m still committed to that goal 18 years later. Innovate Records, my music co. has been able to send money to The Exodus Road and other missions organizations to free those in sex slavery. Many of The 7 Theory profits have been sent to missionaries. Today, 10% of all profits from Kings Home Properties, a real estate company I started, goes to Home Sweet Home, a ministry in China that cares for orphaned and lame children and adults. That weekend changed my life! I discovered that Creator God can make me creative. Our compassionate Father in Heaven can use my life to build something special and to show compassion! Can We Create A Network of Kingdom-Minded Leaders & Business Owners?

I've met with different entrepreneurs over the years and it seems many didn't have a community, the funds or time to travel across the country to get world-class leadership training.  That's when I began to think "Why can't we create that environment right here in NE Ohio?"  Cleveland is actually known for having one of the top orchestras in the world.  Youngstown is making a come-back.  The Wright Brothers innovated the plane HERE! There is a call from Heaven upon this region to innovate! And now it's time for the dreamers and creatives and business owners in NE Ohio, who are passionate about following Jesus Christ, to come together! It’s time we gather to hear from like-minded leaders who are successful in their business and making an impact in our culture.  I didn't have relationships with other start-ups unless I was intentional about forming them.  This is a place where creatives, founders and leaders can meet, network, share ideas & build God's Kingdom together.  My prayer is that those relationships go well beyond the annual event.  I pray that through the Facebook forums, the networking and idea-sharing will continue and foster more creativity, greater effectiveness & true friendships. Who knows, maybe your VC will be at the conference. Who knows, maybe the next start-up you want to partner with will be there? We believe God is going to Transform Trumbull County through church-planting and discipleship. A key element to God raising up churches, is God raising up leaders in the church and the marketplace.
